Description
About Furosemide Tablets
Furosemide tablets may assist with edema associated with congestive heart failure, liver disease, kidney disease, or hypertension. Furosemide belongs to a class of drugs known as loop diuretics, which prevent the reabsorption of sodium and chloride in the kidneys to increase urine output. This diuretic effect may help reduce fluid retention and swelling and may lower blood pressure by decreasing the volume of fluid in the bloodstream.[1]
Furosemide may assist with a comprehensive treatment plan that may include other medications and lifestyle modifications. Furosemide may help with fluid overload symptoms, making it an option for managing acute and chronic conditions associated with fluid retention.[2]
